Millions undergo cosmetic procedures to change or improve their physical attributes or features. Some prominent plastic or cosmetic procedures include facelifts, Botox, chin surgery, chemical peels, and breast augmentation. Many people want to achieve perfection in their looks and features by undergoing cosmetic procedures. However, proportion rather than perfection is the primary focus of skilled and experienced plastic surgeons. Facelifts and facial proportion surgery are prominent cosmetic procedures that improve a person’s facial features and attributes. Facial proportion surgery involves achieving facial symmetry or balance by adjusting the face’s length, width, and other characteristics. The golden ratio represents the ratio between two numbers and is equal to approximately 1.618. When applied to the face, the golden ratio implies that the face should be about 1.618 times longer than the width. Conversely, facial proportion also involves balancing the right and left sides of the face. Facial proportion surgery achieves balance by adjusting the length and width while balancing the two sides.

A facelift or rhytidectomy is another prominent cosmetic procedure focusing on achieving a younger look for a person by utilizing various surgical techniques and exercises. Surgeons perform facelifts by smoothing folds around the cheeks and jawline while tightening the muscles and tissues. Traditional facelifts involve adjusting the skin around the neck, jawline, and cheeks by making large incisions. However, the contemporary short scar incision facelift involves a shorter incision and resulting scar than the traditional procedure. Short scar incision facelift has a faster surgery duration and shorter incision than traditional facelifts. However, it achieves similar results as the conventional technique but with a shorter scar. Although short scar incision facelifts are relatively better than the conventional technique, only a few surgeons have the expertise and experience to complete the procedure.
