A lot of studies have shown that smoking cigarettes can only bring many adverse effects on one’s health, and some of it is life-threatening. Smoking cigarettes can significantly affect not just the respiratory system, but as well as the circulatory system and the reproductive system of the body. It can even cause cancer in the skin, eyes, and throat.

According to the CDC or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cigarettes are one of the primary reasons why people develop lung cancer and heart disease. Second-hand smoking can also weaken someone’s immune system then makes them susceptible to illness.

While quitting smoking can be quite challenging, vaping, or e-cigarettes, on the other hand, can be a better and safer alternative.

What is vaping or e-cigarettes?

Vaping is the process of inhaling and exhaling a vapor called the aerosol. The said substance can only be produced using an e cigarette or a similar device. Since the introduction of e-cigarettes in 2007, it became popular, especially to the younger generations and to people who are looking for ways to stop smoking traditional cigarettes. Furthermore, vaping devices don’t just include e-cigarettes, one can also do vaping using vape pens like the Kush vape pen, and other advanced vaporizers called MODS.

The vaping device usually consists of a cartridge for the e-liquid, a battery, a heating component, and a mouthpiece. The battery is used to heat up the e-liquid that would produce the aerosol component. The aerosol would then be inhaled through the mouthpiece of the device.

What is the difference between vaping and cigarettes?

When using a cigarette, it must be lit on fire. However, the materials used to create a cigarette, including the cigarette paper, when burned, can produce hazardous compounds such as carbon monoxide, tar, and other poisonous gasses. These compounds can cause smoking-related diseases like those we have mentioned above.

Vaping, on the other hand, doesn’t produce any of those hazardous compounds because nothing is being burned. The e-liquid is usually made of vegetable glycerin or propylene glycol, flavoring, water, and nicotine (optional). Those compounds, when heated electronically, will evaporate.

While both of them offer nicotine, it cannot cause any smoking-related diseases. However, one should take note that nicotine can develop a smoking dependency.

Is vaping safer than smoking?

While no one can assure that vaping is 100% safe, it is a much better alternative than smoking, especially if one is aiming to become ‘smoke-free.’ After all, switching from smoking cigarettes to vaping can significantly reduce the smoker’s chance to develop smoking-related diseases. The reason is that the smoker is no longer exposed to the hazardous chemicals from smoking cigarettes.

Is it safe to vape and smoke at the same time?

The primary reason why you should use vape is to help you stop smoking traditional cigarettes. However, if you find yourself having difficulty in quitting smoking cigarettes, then alternate vaping in between and gradually reduce the number of cigarettes you consume. Do that process until your body adjusts to vaping.

Which vaping device should I start with?

Nowadays, you can choose from a wide variety of electronic cigarettes on the market. But for starters, you can opt for a vape pen like the Kush vape pen. Vape pens tend to look like a regular cigarette, and they are the cheapest too. Furthermore, you can add menthol flavors to imitate the cooling effects of traditional cigarettes. However, when choosing your first e-cigarette device, we highly recommend purchasing only from reputable e-cigarette stores.

Are e-cigarettes cheaper than smoking?

The answer is an absolute yes! It doesn’t matter whether you are a heavy or a light smoker, vaping, or e-cigarettes can lessen your chance of having smoking-related diseases such as cancer, heart, and lung problems. With this, it can save you from expensive medication and hospitalization bills.

Is second-hand vapor from vaping dangerous?

To date, there is no evidence that second-hand vapor poses a health risk. After all, the vapor is not the same as the harmful smoke from traditional cigarettes. However, it doesn’t mean that vape users should not feel free to vape everywhere. Vape users should also consider other people’s privacy, especially in public places. One should not also be vaping in front of children since adults should be showing a good example.
