What Are the Benefits of CBD Vape Oil?

With the legalization of cannabis in many countries worldwide, many people have begun to use cannabidiol (CBD) products for their possible medicinal benefits. CBD consumers consume the compound in a variety of ways, including smoking.

Some research suggests that CBD can help treat some chronic conditions, such as anxiety and pain. However, most studies have concentrated on the consequences of taking CBD orally rather than inhaling it.

Since vaping’s long-term consequences are uncertain, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises against it.

Please continue reading to find out more about CBD vaping and its possible medicinal applications, as well as knowledge about specific vape pens, formulations, and the risks involved.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabis-derived compound. CBD, unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), does not cause a high. CBD is used in many ways by people for its possible therapeutic benefits.

These may include:

  • pain relief
  • anti-inflammation
  • anti-anxiety
  • seizure and epilepsy management

CBD oil vaping

Many people are already using e-cigarettes to consume marijuana-based items such as CBD.

Aerosolized treatments are often used for people who have asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. This method of administration delivers the drug directly into the lungs, resulting in a rapid clinical effect. In general, people need lower doses as compared to oral or subcutaneous injections.

Because of condensation aerosols’ properties, vaping can appear to be a more efficient method of consuming CBD. However, since vaping is still a relatively new activity, researchers are uncertain about its benefits and drawbacks and must perform further studies.

CBD vape oil advantages

Vaporization is the process of heating a material until it vaporizes into a gas. Since you are not heating it to the point of combustion, you prevent byproducts of combustion such as particulate matter, which are tiny particles of soot that can damage the lungs and the heart.

According to Bonni Goldstein, MD, medical director and owner of Cannacenters, a medical practice in Los Angeles, and author of Cannabis is Medicine: How Medical Cannabis and CBD are Healing Everything from Anxiety to Chronic Pain, inhaled CBD oil provides immediate relief for chronic back pain, can help prevent migraines, providing immediate pain relief, and even relieving public speaking anxiety.

“The benefits are a faster onset, and for many people, believe it or not, it’s much easier to dose, and if you notice the symptoms soon, you’re like, ‘OK, I’m fine, I got my dose,'” she says.

CBD vape oil risks

Possibility of lung injury

Unregulated vape products have been related to EVALI (the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s) acronym for “E-cigarette or vaping device use-associated lung injury.”)

CBD vape oil can contain potentially hazardous ingredients

Martin A. Lee, co-founder and director of Project CBD, a California non-profit that supports CBD science, and author of Smoke Signals: A Social History of Marijuana–Medical, Recreational, and Scientific, advises against using CBD vape oil unless it comes from a medical cannabis program.

“Because of the way the oil is handled, they have to bring all sorts of stuff in there to adjust the texture of the oil,” Lee explains. He adds that even legal additives, such as propylene glycol, can be toxic when heated and inhaled. “When propylene glycol is heated, it becomes a carcinogen, which is common in the vaping world.”

Lee also points out that chemicals that are safe to consume can be fatal when inhaled. “It’s good to eat coconut oil, but if you’re going to inhale something, you don’t want to heat it and inhale coconut oil. it can cause you with lipid pneumonia.”

Can CBD vape oil be detected in a drug test?

Broad-spectrum and full-spectrum CBD vape oils can contain trace amounts of THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana detected in drug tests.

Since THC and other cannabinoids may accumulate in the body, using a substance containing even trace quantities of THC daily may result in blood levels high enough to fail a drug test.

CBD inhalation methods that are less dangerous

If you want to vape CBD, you’ll need a vaporizer and some CBD-rich cannabis flower. Vaporizers that use dry plant material are costly, ranging from more than $100 for compact models to nearly $700 for a large “desktop” model, but they are designed to generate pure vapor free of combustion byproducts.

Since you’re just using the herb, you’re avoiding potentially harmful chemicals and adulterants, even though they’re legal. Some vape pens allow you to change the temperature, so if you want to try CBD vape oil, holding the temperature below 400 Fahrenheit reduces your chances of inhaling harmful combustion.

When it comes to CBD oil vaping, always err on the side of caution and use a reputable source. Check the CBD product to ensure it has undergone third-party testing and has a Certificate of Analysis (COA) to prove it.

The vape cartridges content will also play a role in how effective it is. So always make sure you know exactly what is inside each vaporizer before you start using. Whether it be THC or CBD vape content, the effects will be different as well.
